Introducing the Mayor of Barrow-in-Furness.

Mayor of Barrow - 2017-2018 - Councillor Tony Callister

Tony is married to Janice with two boys aged 23 and 27.  He left school at 16 and gained an apprenticehip in the Shipyard.  He left the Shipyard at 23 to take up employment as a Firefighter for Cumbria Fire Service (currently served 28 and a half years).  Tony also works for Lancashire Football Association as a Development Officer for Barrow, South Lakes, Morecambe and Lancaster, along with being Head of Performance at Barrow AFC.

Tony is paasionate about his home town with all the opportunities it gives and cares passionately about health and wellbeing within the community.

Tony's hobbies and interests are heavily surrounded by family, socialising, music and sport.  Drumming and singing keep him sane.

The Deputy Mayor of Barrow for 2017/2018 is Councillor Bill McEwan.  Councillor Callister has a Mayoress and a Consort.
