Information about the Annual Canvass of Electors 

DON’T LOSE YOUR RIGHT TO VOTE 

The Annual Canvass of Electors has now commenced and canvass forms will be sent out to all households in the Borough during the next couple of weeks.

The information you provide will enable the Electoral Registration Officer to follow a process to ensure that all eligible persons are included on the next Register of Electors to be published on 1 December 2018.

Anyone aged 16 or over, who is a British, Commonwealth or European Union Citizen needs to be included for the address at which they are living.

The form is not a ‘registration form’ – it is a request for information as to who is currently living in the property – but it is important that you do respond to the Electoral Registration Officer using one of the three methods shown below.

When prompted enter your security Code Part 1 and Part 2 which can be found on the form.  Follow the on-screen instructions.

Listen to the full message and when prompted enter your security Code Part 1 and Part 2 -  which can be found on the form – into your telephone keypad

Changes and No Changes to pre-printed or blank information

Complete and return the form to the Electoral Registration Office in the Freepost envelope provided.


New Registrations can be made at www.gov.uk/register-to-vote but only once a response to this initial request for information has been made as shown aboveYour date of birth and National Insurance Number is required for this.

It is a legal requirement to provide the information requested, but if you don’t you could be fined £1,000.
