Building Regulations

If you are undertaking development work on your property it is necessary to consider whether the project will require Planning Permission and Building Regulations. These are two separate applications and you will need to contact each department individually.

Building Regulations are a national set of standards and apply to most buildings both domestic and commercial. The Regulations are made under powers provided in the Building Act 1984 and apply in England and Wales. Building Regulations exist to ensure health and safety, energy conservation and access of buildings is maintained.
