Making a Building Regulations Application

Development Services Handbook

LABC Front Door for practical advice on Building Regulations and home improvements.

There are two methods of applying for Building Regulations.

  • Full Plans Submission - This is depositing a detailed set of plans and specifications drawn up by an architect, the plans are then checked in detail and if they comply with the Building Regulations an approval notice is issued.
  • Building Notice - This is for domestic work only and involves completing an application form supplying details of proposed works. An acceptance notice is then issued and all work is dealt with on site.
