Examination of Local Plan
The Council submitted its Local Plan to the Planning Inspectorate on 2nd February 2018.
The planning inspector appointed by the Secretary of State to independently examine the Local Plan is Karen Ridge LLB (Hons) MTPL.
The detailed timetable for the Examination for the examination can be found in the Examination Library and will be updated as necessary.
Submission – 2nd February 2018
Hearings – The Hearing sessions will commence at 10 am on Tuesday 5th June 2018. Sessions will be held on:
Tuesday 5th to Thursday 7th June 2018
Tuesday 12th to Thursday 14th June 2018
Tuesday 26th June and Wednesday 27th June 2018
The venue will be Barrow Town Hall.

Local Plan Latest News
17th April 2018
The Council has given notice that the Local Plan hearings will start on Tuesday 5th June 2018 at 10 am in Barrow Town Hall.
13th April 2018
The Inspector has produced an initial timetable, guidance notes and Matters, Issues and Questions document which are available in the Examination Library.
5th March 2018
The examination process is now in the early stages. The hearings, when all matters and issues will be discussed, are likely to start in June. However details and dates will be confirmed in due course.
