Incentive Schemes

We have three reward schemes: Good Tenants, Good Neighbour ‘Thank You’ and Leave it Clean scheme.

Rewarding Good Tenants

Any tenant who has maintained their tenancy in accordance with their Tenancy Agreement is entitled to enter a quarterly draw to win shopping vouchers - a first prize to the value of £100 and further prizes of £50.

In order to enter the draw you need to have:

  1. Maintained a clear rent account for a minimum period of three months.  (It doesn’t matter whether you currently pay your rent yourself or it is paid directly on your behalf by Housing Benefit.  A clear rent account means there are no arrears on your account.  Flexibility will be allowed for tenants who pay monthly by direct debit or standing order.)

  2. Not been involved in any anti-social behaviour in your area

  3. Maintained your tenancy and any garden/outside area to an acceptable standard

  4. Have allowed our contractor to gain access to your home to complete the annual gas safety check and, when due, the electrical check, without delay

If you wish to apply to enter the free draw, please get in touch (contact details are given below) and advise you want to apply for the Good Tenant draw.  We will then complete a tenancy check and, if you fulfil the criteria, your name will be entered into the next draw.

Good Neighbour 'Thank You'

We like to recognise and say ‘thank you’ to tenants and residents who go the extra mile to help their neighbours and community.

Throughout the year, we will present residents who have made a difference to their community with shopping vouchers to the value of £50.

If you know someone you think should receive recognition for what they’ve done, please get in touch (our contact details are given below).  The person you nominate should live on a council estate or contribute to the lives of people or someone who lives on a council estate.

We need to know:

  • your name, address, email address, telephone number

  • the name and address of the person you wish to nominate

  • the reason for your nomination

Leave it Clean Scheme

Are you moving out of your council home?  Would £100 of shopping vouchers help you set up your new home?  If, so, we could help.

We want to encourage you to leave your home clean and tidy when you move out as this will mean we’ll be able to re-let the property more quickly, so we’re offering £100 of shopping vouchers to any tenants who fulfil the following criteria:

  • you must be up to date with your rent payments

  • you must give four weeks’ notice that you’ll be moving out of your home. Please mention your request to apply for the Goodbye - Leave it Clean Scheme in writing when you provide your four weeks’ notice

  • you must hand in your keys including front and back doors, door entry keys and key fobs by midday on the Monday (or next working day) your tenancy ends

  • you must be leaving to move into private sector property (not transferring to alternative Council property)

  • you must leave no repairs outstanding that we would recharge to you

  • you must make sure that the property you are leaving, including any loft and garden/outdoor space, is free from rubbish, furniture and floor coverings, and that all items of waste have been disposed of correctly. We may not pay you if you haven’t disposed of your furniture or rubbish correctly. You can take rubbish to the Council’s waste recycling centre on Walney Road or you may wish to use the Council’s bulky household waste removal service, call 01229 876543

Please note, this scheme is not available on the death of a tenant.
