Local Development Scheme
The Council has to prepare and maintain a Local Development Scheme (LDS) which sets out:
- the planning policy documents the Council currently intends to produce and update;
- an outline of their content; and
- a timetable for their preparation.
The Council's first LDS was prepared in March 2005 and revised LDS's were published in June 2006, August 2007, September 2009, July 2010, January 2013, February 2014, May 2016 and March 2018.
The LDS has been updated and was approved by Executive Committee in March 2019, taking effect from 18th March 2019.
Statement of Community Involvement
The Statement of Community Involvement (SCI) sets out the Council's policies and procedures for involving the public and other stakeholders in the planning process, both in the preparation of the planning policy documents and in the consideration of planning applications. The Statement of Community Involvement has been updated to reflect the councils approach to consultation based on experience gained since the production of the previous SCI. The current SCI was adopted 22 May 2016.

Development of the Revised SCI
A public consultation was held where the Council invited comments and suggestions on a draft version of the SCI which included how we consult on planning policy documents and planning applications.
The consultation ran from 22 March 2016 to 22 April 2016 and the Council received 34 comments before the deadline. Details of these comments and the Councils response, including where the draft was amended are detailed in the Table of Responses.

The SCI was considered by the Council's Executive Committee on 11 May 2016 when the Committee resolved to adopt the revised SCI.
Planning Policy Consultation Database
The SCI contains a list of the organisations that are included on the Council's Planning Policy Consultation Database and their relevant categories as prescribed by the Regulations. The list in the SCI does not include the individuals, agents and companies that are also on the database. Any organisation, group or individual, agent or company can be added to the database and will be notified of document production in line with their specific request. Annual Monitoring Report
The Council has published its twelfth Annual Monitoring Report covering the period from 1 April 2015 to 31 March 2018.
The AMR sets out the Council's progress in producing the planning policy documents set out in the Local Development Scheme (LDS). It also sets out a monitoring framework for the new and saved policies, drawing on the latest information on the Borough's environmental, social and economic characteristics.
